Product Description:
The 131G1418 is a Danfoss variable frequency drive in the VLT FC 102 HVAC Drives series. It is intended for building services automation where precise motor speed control is required to regulate air handlers, pumps, and chillers. By converting fixed-frequency mains power into a variable-frequency output, the drive allows ventilation and hydronic equipment to respond to changing load demand while reducing unnecessary electrical consumption. This operating approach supports applications in which fans and pumps do not need to run continuously at full speed.
The inverter delivers a mechanical output of 1.5 HP, which corresponds to 1.1 kW of continuous output for an induction motor. It is wired for three-phase power, making it suitable for common commercial and industrial HVAC distribution systems. Its housing has an IP21 / Type 1 rating, so the drive can be installed in a clean, conditioned electrical room that provides protection from excessive moisture and contaminants. Installation uses standard cable entries under Adaptation A, providing conventional routing points for power and control wiring. The frame selection accommodates dry-room mounting for B, C, D, and E mechanical sizes. The base configuration does not include factory-installed RFI filtering or mains disconnect equipment, so any required external components must be selected for the installation.
User interaction is provided through a graphical local control panel, which gives direct access to operating values, parameters, and setup menus. The drive has no brake chopper, so it does not dissipate regenerative stopping energy through an internally controlled braking resistor. This arrangement is suitable for fans, pumps, and other loads that can decelerate naturally without rapid dynamic braking. The electronics use an uncoated printed circuit board, so the unit should remain in a clean, noncondensing atmosphere and away from corrosive airborne substances. Its Series 102 designation associates the drive with the menu structure and mechanical format used throughout the VLT HVAC Drive product group. The available control interface supports local adjustments when operating requirements change or when connected equipment needs to be monitored at the drive.
