Product Description:
The 131F8649 is an AC variable frequency drive built by Danfoss for the VLT FC 102 HVAC Drives series. It regulates fan and pump motors in commercial ventilation systems by converting fixed utility power into controllable frequency and voltage outputs. This control allows connected equipment to adjust motor speed in response to changing airflow, pressure, or circulation demands. The drive is intended for commercial HVAC applications that require variable-speed operation without placing motor control directly across the utility supply.
The inverter delivers a continuous output of 11 kW, which corresponds to a mechanical output of 15 HP. It accepts an input supply ranging from 380 – 480 VAC and operates on three-phase power networks. The assembly supports normal cabinet mounting positions for A, B, and C frame sizes. Its chassis has IP20 chassis protection, which guards live parts against accidental contact but requires the unit to be installed inside a suitable enclosure. The drive does not include a brake chopper, so regenerated braking energy must be managed outside the unit when required by the application. It also lacks a dedicated mains disconnect, which means incoming isolation and overcurrent protection must be provided by external equipment.
An integral RFI Class A1/B (C1) filter attenuates conducted electromagnetic emissions on the input lines. The drive uses uncoated circuit boards, so its enclosure should protect the electronics from condensing humidity and corrosive airborne contaminants. Wiring passes through standard cable entries with normal glands rather than specialized conduit fittings. The selected configuration has no local control panel, so parameter access requires remote software or a compatible detachable control panel. Safe Stop functionality is handled without internal braking-energy dissipation and should be incorporated into the machine’s control arrangement as appropriate. The base configuration does not include dedicated A, B, C0, C1, or D option accessories, leaving communication, control, and application-specific functions to separately selected system components.
