The 131F6631 is an AC variable frequency drive produced by Danfoss within the VLT FC 102 HVAC Drives series. It is intended for building-services automation where fans, pumps, and compressors must be regulated for energy-efficient airflow or fluid movement. By converting a fixed mains frequency into a programmable output, the drive allows supervisory controllers to match motor speed to real-time demand in ventilation and chiller plants. This variable-speed operation can reduce unnecessary motor activity when a building requires less airflow, pressure, or cooling capacity.
The rated output power is 15 kW, which is equivalent to 20 HP, so the unit can manage medium-sized induction motors used in air-handling equipment. It accepts a supply of 380–480 VAC with three-phase power, matching common industrial distribution networks. The IP20 chassis enclosure requires installation inside a protective switchboard that provides appropriate access control and clearances. A built-in RFI filter rated for Class A1/B (C1) limits conducted emissions from the switching electronics. The graphical local control panel supports parameter entry, operating-status checks, and fault readout without requiring a separate interface. Normal cabinet mounting across A, B, and C frame sizes accommodates standard enclosure layouts and allows the surrounding ventilation paths to serve the installed drive.
The drive uses standard cable entries for routing mains, motor, and control wiring into the enclosure. Its electronics use uncoated printed circuit boards, which are suitable for clean electrical rooms where conformal protection against moisture or chemical contamination is unnecessary. The configuration includes no brake chopper, so an external dynamic braking resistor cannot be connected directly to the drive for rapid energy dissipation. Motor and load behavior must therefore be considered when setting deceleration ramps, particularly in applications with substantial rotating inertia. The interface uses the standard language pack for menus, status messages, and operating prompts on the graphical control panel. Optional fieldbus cards can connect the drive to a compatible building management system for remote speed commands, status monitoring, and fault reporting.
