Product Description:
The 131F5460 is a variable-frequency drive produced by Danfoss for the VLT FC 102 HVAC Drives series. It modulates induction motor speed in ventilation, pumping, and chiller systems so that airflow or fluid volume can match real-time building demand. By converting fixed-frequency mains power into a controlled output, the unit helps reduce energy consumption when the connected motor does not need to operate at full speed. Standard control terminals allow the drive to exchange commands and operating data with building management systems. Its application-focused controls support common heating, ventilation, and air-conditioning functions within an automation panel.
The drive delivers a continuous mechanical output of 15 HP, which corresponds to an electrical output of 11 kW. Input power must remain within 200–240 VAC, and the rectifier section accepts three-phase power for connection to compatible low-voltage supplies. The IP20 chassis enclosure provides protection against accidental finger contact with internal electrical components, but the drive must be installed inside a suitable cabinet to guard against dust and moisture. An integrated RFI filter reduces conducted electrical interference on the incoming power lines. The drive does not include a brake chopper, so an external dynamic braking resistor cannot be connected. Deceleration settings must therefore account for the regenerative energy returned by the motor during a rapid stop.
User interaction is provided through the factory-supplied graphical local control panel, which offers parameter access, status readouts, and local start-and-stop commands. The display and navigation controls allow operating values and alarms to be reviewed directly at the drive. Mechanical installation uses normal cabinet mounting for A, B, and C frames, allowing the heat sink and mounting points to align with the intended backplate arrangement and airflow path. Adequate clearance around the chassis supports cooling and provides access to the power and control terminals. The drive contains uncoated circuit boards, making it suitable for clean electrical rooms where corrosive gases, conductive dust, and excessive humidity are controlled. Locations with airborne contaminants may require additional cabinet protection to prevent deposits from affecting the electronics. The unit includes the Standard Language Pack for menu navigation and operating messages.
