The 131F5454 is a variable-frequency drive manufactured by Danfoss within the VLT FC 102 HVAC Drives series. It converts fixed-frequency, three-phase mains power into a modulated output that controls motor speed in air-handling units, chillers, and pump sets used for building climate regulation. By managing torque electronically, the drive reduces reliance on mechanical throttling devices and enables precise flow control in duct and piping networks. The unit is intended for cabinet installation and is suitable for systems that require coordination with building automation controllers.
This model accepts an input of 380–480 VAC from three-phase power. Its inverter section provides a continuous motor output of 30 kW, which corresponds to 40 HP and supports midsized centrifugal fans or pumps. The chassis has IP20 chassis protection, so it must be installed inside an enclosure that provides suitable protection from dust, moisture, and accidental contact. The drive has no brake chopper, so regenerative energy produced during rapid deceleration cannot be dissipated internally and must be limited through the controlled deceleration profile. An integrated electromagnetic compatibility stage reduces conducted electrical noise, while the available interface languages make operating parameters easier to navigate.
User interaction is handled through a graphical local control panel that plugs into the drive face and provides plain-text access to operating values, alarms, and adjustable parameters. Wiring passes through standard cable entries, allowing power, motor, and control conductors to be routed into the chassis through conventional cabinet openings. Installation uses normal cabinet mounting for A, B, and C frames, positioning the heat sink to work with typical vertical ventilation paths. The built-in RFI filter reduces conducted emissions on the incoming power supply and helps prevent interference with nearby control equipment. Adequate clearance around the heat sink allows warm air to leave the enclosure without obstructing adjacent components or cable routes.
