Product Description:
The 131F3248 is an AC variable frequency drive manufactured by Danfoss for the VLT FC 102 HVAC Drives series. Classified in the VLT HVAC Drive product group, it regulates the speed of induction motors that operate fans, pumps, and compressors in building automation systems. By varying the output frequency, the drive allows controllers to match motor energy consumption to real-time airflow, water flow, or pressure demands. This capability supports variable-speed operation in industrial and commercial HVAC installations where system demand changes throughout the day.
This drive accepts an input of 380–480 VAC and uses three-phase power, so it connects directly to common industrial feeders without external transformers. The inverter section is rated at 1.1 kW, which corresponds to a mechanical output of 1.5 HP. An enclosure class of IP20 with a chassis enclosure permits cabinet airflow while helping prevent accidental contact with live parts. Conducted emissions are reduced by a built-in filter that meets RFI Class A1/B (C1), providing electromagnetic compatibility for suitable installations. The drive does not include a brake chopper, so applications that produce regenerative energy require an appropriate external solution. It is also supplied without a local control panel, which means operating commands and status monitoring must be handled through external controls or the installed communication interface.
In its default configuration, the drive is fitted with the LonWorks MCA 108 communication module, enabling direct connection to compatible building management networks. The unit supports normal cabinet mounting for A, B, and C frames, allowing it to be positioned within an electrical enclosure using the applicable frame arrangement. Wiring passes through standard cable entries, which provide an organized route for incoming power, motor conductors, and control connections. The printed circuit board is uncoated, making the drive appropriate for clean, temperature-controlled electrical rooms where moisture and corrosive contaminants are limited. The unit does not include a dedicated mains option, so upstream disconnecting and fusing devices must be provided separately. Adequate cabinet ventilation should be maintained around the chassis to carry heat away from the power electronics during continuous HVAC operation.
