Product Description:
The 131F0771 variable-frequency converter is produced by Danfoss within the VLT FC 102 HVAC Drives series. Serving as a speed-control link between a building-management controller and an induction motor, it adjusts output frequency to regulate air-handling units, pumps, and cooling-tower fans. By electronically modulating motor speed instead of using mechanical dampers or throttling valves, the drive maintains temperature and airflow setpoints while reducing energy use in commercial HVAC installations. Its variable-speed operation also reduces unnecessary motor output when the connected equipment is operating under partial load.
Input power is accepted from a three-phase supply at 380-480 VAC, and the inverter section can deliver a continuous shaft output of 11 kW or 15 HP. The unit supports three-phase power and connects directly to standard 400-volt distribution boards without requiring a step-down transformer. The enclosure carries an IP21 / Type 1 rating, supporting wall or panel mounting in clean electrical rooms where protection against finger contact and limited dripping water is required. Standard cable entries are supplied under Adaptation A, while frames B through E accommodate dry-room mounting arrangements commonly found in air-handling equipment cabinets. These installation provisions allow the power and motor cables to be routed through the designated enclosure openings without altering the housing.
Electromagnetic emissions are attenuated by an integrated RFI filter, allowing the drive to operate alongside sensitive building-automation modules. Parameter access and local commands are handled through the detachable graphical local control panel, which provides a readable interface for viewing operating data and adjusting settings. The design includes no brake chopper, so regenerative energy produced during rapid deceleration must be managed by the load or a suitable external braking arrangement. The control boards use uncoated printed circuit boards, so the drive should be installed away from condensing humidity and corrosive fumes. Factory options A, B, C0, C1, and D are omitted from this configuration, leaving the corresponding option positions available for compatible field-installed communication or input/output modules when required by the application.
