Product Description:
The 131B9888 is a VLT FC 102 HVAC variable frequency drive manufactured by Danfoss for automated fans, pumps, and compressors in building-service plants. It belongs to the VLT HVAC Drive product group and carries the internal series identifier 102. The unit is supplied as a standalone backplate assembly that can be installed on Frame A5, B, or C hardware inside an open drive section. By converting fixed mains power into a regulated motor output, the drive allows building controls to adjust motor speed according to real-time airflow or water-flow demand. This variable-speed operation can reduce unnecessary energy consumption and limit mechanical stress caused by frequent full-speed starts and stops.
The unit accepts a nominal input of 380–480 VAC from a three-phase power network. It delivers up to 5.5 kW of mechanical output at the motor terminals, supporting moderate-capacity HVAC equipment. An integrated RFI filter attenuates conducted electrical interference and helps the installation meet applicable electromagnetic compatibility requirements. The drive does not include a brake chopper, making it suitable for fan, pump, and compressor loads that do not require internal dynamic braking hardware. Its printed circuit boards are not coated, so the unit should be installed where the cabinet provides suitable protection from moisture and corrosive airborne contaminants. The standard language pack supports local operation without requiring a specialized display configuration.
The IP55 / Type 12 backplate protects the covered area against dust and low-pressure water jets in typical plant-room installations. A graphical local control panel provides access to operating parameters, status information, alarms, and trend displays directly at the drive. Standard cable entries route mains, motor, and control wiring through the enclosure without additional mechanical adaptation. The frame arrangement allows cabinet airflow to reach the heat-sink fins behind the open drive section, helping remove heat generated by the power electronics. The absence of installed option modules leaves the available expansion positions open for compatible communication, control, or application accessories when required by the system design.
