The 131B9522 variable frequency drive is produced by Danfoss for the VLT FC 102 HVAC Drives series. It modulates induction motor speed so building automation systems can match fan or pump output to changing thermal and process loads. By converting fixed-frequency mains power into a variable-frequency output, the drive regulates pressure, airflow, or water circulation in air-handling units, cooling towers, and booster systems. Its adjustable motor control can reduce unnecessary energy consumption when connected equipment does not need to operate at full speed.
An A-option slot is populated with PROFIBUS DP MCA 101, giving the controller cyclic communication with compatible PLC networks. The drive uses standard cable entries, which provide straightforward routing for power, motor, and control wiring inside an enclosure. The chassis supports normal cabinet mounting for A, B, or C frames without additional mounting brackets. Its power section accepts 380–480 VAC from a three-phase power supply, making it suitable for common industrial distribution systems. An IP20 chassis protects against accidental contact with internal components but requires installation in a suitable ventilated cabinet. A mains disconnect is not installed in the drive, so an external isolator must be included where required by the installation.
The drive has no brake chopper, so applications that require controlled dissipation of regenerative energy must use an appropriate external arrangement. Local operation is handled through a graphical local control panel, which provides access to operating data, parameter settings, and drive status. The standard language pack supports navigation through the available control menus without requiring a separate interface. Signal interference is reduced by an RFI Class A1/B (C1) filter, which helps limit conducted emissions on the connected power system. The unit uses an uncoated printed circuit board, so the installation environment should protect the internal electronics from excessive moisture, corrosive vapors, and conductive contamination. Add-on input and output cards are not installed, leaving the standard onboard control terminals available for basic command and monitoring functions.
