Product Description:
The 131B5661 variable-frequency drive is produced by Danfoss and belongs to the VLT FC 102 HVAC Drives series. It modulates the output frequency supplied to centrifugal fans, pumps, and compressors, allowing building-management systems to match motor speed to real-time heating, cooling, and ventilation demand. The unit integrates motor control, equipment protection, and a user interface in one enclosure for use in industrial and commercial air-handling installations. Adjusting motor speed according to demand can reduce unnecessary energy consumption compared with applications that operate motors continuously at full speed.
The drive accepts 380–480 VAC from a three-phase power supply, allowing direct connection to standard industrial mains. Its IP55 / Type 12 backplate enclosure protects the internal electronics from dust and water jets when the unit is installed correctly. Conducted emissions are limited by the built-in RFI Class A1/B (C1) filter, helping nearby electrical equipment comply with applicable electromagnetic compatibility limits. Parameter entry and fault logging are handled through a detachable graphical local control panel, which presents operating values and status information on a backlit screen. The heat sink is attached to a backplate designed for Frame A5, B, and C units. Airflow across the open rear of the drive removes heat without requiring additional ductwork.
Cables enter through standard cable entries, providing an uncomplicated path for mains, motor, and control wiring. The standard backplate geometry is retained because the unit does not include a backplate adaptation. Motor stopping relies on drive control because the DC bus has no brake chopper for an external braking resistor. The control board uses an uncoated printed circuit board, making the drive suitable for clean HVAC equipment rooms where moisture and corrosive contaminants are controlled. The unit does not include auxiliary option boards, motion cards, an additional C1 filter, or an integrated mains switch. Its interface uses the standard language pack for menu navigation and operating messages. The internal 102 identifier associates the drive with other products in the VLT HVAC Drive group without changing its electrical installation requirements.
