The 131B5489 is a variable-frequency drive manufactured by Danfoss and supplied within the VLT FC 102 HVAC Drives series. As part of the VLT HVAC Drive product group, it converts fixed-frequency mains power into a regulated output for controlling fan and pump motors. Building-management systems can adjust motor speed to regulate temperature, airflow, or pressure in commercial and industrial HVAC applications. The controller carries the series identifier 102 and is intended for mechanical rooms where energy efficiency, reduced acoustic load, and networked automation are important. Variable-speed operation also reduces the need to control airflow or pressure through mechanical throttling devices.
The power section accepts an input of 380–480 VAC from a three-phase power supply, allowing connection to common industrial distribution systems without a transformer. An IP55 / Type 12 enclosure permits surface mounting in plant rooms where the unit may be exposed to dust or water spray. Conducted emissions are limited by an RFI Class A1/B (C1) filter, helping the drive operate near sensitive HVAC sensors and control wiring. Users can access operating values, adjust parameters, and override setpoints through a front-mounted graphical local control panel. Its display provides menu navigation and trend pages without requiring a separate programming device. The standard configuration does not include a mains option module, and the C1 option slot is left empty to preserve the basic enclosure footprint.
Power and control wiring pass through standard cable entries, providing conventional routing into the enclosure during panel or wall installation. The electronics use uncoated printed circuit boards, making the drive most appropriate for climate-controlled locations without corrosive gases or persistent condensation. The drive has no brake chopper, so it cannot directly dissipate regenerative energy through a connected braking resistor. The A, B, C0, and D feature positions are not populated, and Adaptation B is not applied. The interface includes the standard language pack and follows the default Danfoss parameter menu structure. Available operating menus support access to motor data, control references, status information, alarms, and application settings from the local control panel.
