Product Description:
The 131B5481 is an AC variable frequency drive manufactured by Danfoss for the VLT FC 102 HVAC Drives series. It converts fixed-frequency input power into a controlled output that allows building automation systems to regulate the speed of fans, pumps, and compressors. Variable-speed operation reduces reliance on mechanical dampers and control valves while allowing motor output to follow changing airflow or pressure demands. The drive can receive operating commands from an external controller and adjust the connected motor without requiring manual speed changes.
The drive has a rated output power of 18.5 kW, which corresponds to 25 HP of continuous motor capacity. Its input stage accepts 380–480 VAC through three-phase power terminals, allowing direct connection to standard industrial power systems without a step-down transformer. The IP55 / Type 12 enclosure protects internal components against dust and splashed water, making the unit suitable for installation in plant rooms that do not provide additional shielding. Power and control wiring pass through standard cable entries provided by Adaptation A. The drive does not include a brake chopper, so controlled deceleration depends on configured ramp settings and the regenerative characteristics of the connected load.
Conducted emissions are limited by the integrated RFI Class A1/B (C1) filter, which helps the installation meet electromagnetic compatibility requirements commonly applied to HVAC equipment. Local setup and diagnostics are performed through the graphical local control panel, which provides access to operating parameters, fault logs, and trend data. Its backlit screen keeps status information visible in dim equipment rooms and allows operating conditions to be reviewed directly at the drive. The control board has an uncoated printed circuit board, so the enclosure should be installed away from corrosive vapors and chemically aggressive airborne contaminants. The standard language pack supports navigation through the available control menus and diagnostic information.
