Product Description:
The 131B4223 is a variable frequency drive produced by Danfoss and supplied within the VLT FC 102 HVAC Drives series. It converts fixed-frequency mains power into a regulated output that allows building controllers to adjust fan or pump speed as the load changes. By matching motor speed to actual demand, the unit reduces energy consumption in central air-handling units, chilled-water circulation loops, and exhaust systems in commercial and industrial facilities. This variable-speed operation also reduces unnecessary mechanical stress when equipment runs below its maximum capacity.
The drive accepts a supply of 380–480 VAC from a three-phase power network, allowing direct connection to standard distribution panels. Its enclosure has an IP55 / Type 12 protection rating, which prevents dust deposits and low-pressure water jets from reaching internal components. Conducted radio-frequency emissions are attenuated by the integrated RFI Class A1/B (C1) filter, helping control electromagnetic interference inside electrical rooms. A front-mounted graphical local control panel provides parameter editing, local start and stop controls, and real-time operating feedback without requiring external tools. Within the VLT HVAC Drive product group, this model uses series code 102. The mains option remains at its default setting because the drive does not include special feed-through or isolation equipment, while the A and B option slots are empty.
Field wiring is supported by standard cable entries under Adaptation A, leaving the gland plate in its original form. Adaptation B does not add any enclosure changes. The control boards use uncoated printed circuit board construction rather than a conformal coating, so the enclosure must provide the necessary protection from moisture and airborne contaminants. The drive has no brake chopper, which means regenerative energy must be handled by the motor, the connected system, or suitable external equipment. Harmonic suppression accessories are limited because the configuration includes no C1 option, and the C0, D, and B option slots are empty. These electrical and enclosure features support installation in HVAC systems that use conventional three-phase distribution and protected equipment locations.
