Product Description:
The 131B4215 is an AC variable-frequency drive produced by Danfoss within the VLT FC 102 HVAC Drives series. As a member of the VLT HVAC Drive product group, it modulates the speed of centrifugal fans, pumps, and compressors so building automation systems can match airflow or water flow to real-time demand while conserving energy. The drive fits standard control enclosures and supports local parameter programming through controls shared by FC 102 units.
The enclosure carries IP20 chassis protection, which protects against contact with fingers but requires cabinet installation for protection from dust and moisture. It accepts a line supply of 380–480 VAC and operates with three-phase power, allowing direct connection to typical industrial distribution panels. Cooling air moves vertically because the frame supports normal cabinet mounting for A, B, and C frames. This orientation keeps the heat sinks aligned with natural convection paths in most switchgear installations. A built-in RFI filter attenuates conducted emissions so the drive can share a cabinet with sensitive building management system controllers without requiring an external filter.
User interaction is handled through the graphical local control panel, which provides text-based parameter menus and trend readouts without requiring external tools. The control boards use an uncoated PCB, so the drive is intended for conditioned electrical rooms rather than high-humidity or washdown areas. Regenerative energy cannot be dissipated internally because of the lack of a brake chopper, so applications involving rapid deceleration must rely on mechanical dampers or an external braking module. Mains conductors and motor leads enter through standard cable entries, supporting conventional routing inside a control enclosure. Because no mains-side option is included, the required harmonic mitigation and line protection must be installed separately within the cabinet.
