Product Description:
The 131B4206 variable frequency drive is manufactured by Danfoss and supplied within the VLT FC 102 HVAC Drives series. It regulates the speed of induction motors used in fans, pumps, and chillers, allowing building control systems to adjust airflow or water flow in response to changing demand. Reducing motor speed during periods of light demand can lower energy consumption and reduce mechanical stress on connected equipment. The unit installs inside a control cabinet and communicates with facility controllers through its control and I/O terminals. This arrangement supports integration into air-handling units, chilled-water systems, and other building automation equipment that requires variable-speed motor control.
The drive connects to plant mains over a range of 380–480 VAC and draws power from a three-phase power supply to produce an adjustable output for the connected motor. Its IP20 chassis is intended for installation inside a cabinet that provides the required protection against environmental contaminants. An integral RFI filter attenuates conducted electrical emissions and helps the installation comply with industrial electromagnetic compatibility requirements. User interaction is provided through a graphical local control panel, which offers access to operating parameters, trend information, status messages, and fault data without requiring an external interface. The drive supports standard cabinet mounting for A, B, and C frames, allowing it to fit the corresponding Danfoss HVAC frame arrangements. Adequate clearance around the chassis permits cooling airflow to pass through the drive and helps prevent excessive internal temperatures during operation.
The enclosure uses standard cable entries that accommodate incoming power, motor, and control wiring through the appropriate gland plate. A standard language pack provides multilingual parameter names and operating messages on the local control panel. The printed circuit boards are uncoated, so the drive should be installed in a clean, conditioned cabinet that is protected from corrosive gases, conductive dust, and excessive moisture. The unit does not include a brake chopper or a mains option, making external equipment necessary when an application requires those functions. Proper cable separation between power and control conductors helps limit electrical interference, while secure grounding provides a low-impedance path for filter currents and supports reliable operation.
