The 131B3611 is a variable frequency drive produced by Danfoss for the VLT FC 102 HVAC Drives series. Designed to control the speed of three-phase induction motors in ventilation and pumping systems, the unit converts fixed mains power into variable-frequency output that matches load demand. In building automation cabinets, it serves as a dedicated HVAC controller for fan arrays, chillers, and air-handling equipment that require precise airflow or water circulation. Adjusting motor speed according to actual demand can also reduce unnecessary energy consumption and mechanical stress in supported HVAC equipment.
The drive accepts a supply range of 380–480 VAC from a three-phase power network, allowing direct connection to common industrial switchboards. Its IP20 chassis enclosure prevents accidental finger contact with internal components, but the unit must be installed inside a suitable ventilated cabinet. Parameters are entered and operating information is viewed through the graphical local control panel. Wiring enters the enclosure through standard cable entries selected under Adaptation A, supporting orderly routing inside the cabinet. The internal series identifier is 102, which corresponds to the FC 102 platform and its HVAC-oriented control functions. The mains option slot and the A and B option bays are empty, while a C1 filter is not factory installed.
For electromagnetic compatibility, the unit includes an internal RFI filter that helps limit radio-frequency interference conducted toward the power network. Installation follows the normal cabinet mounting pattern for A, B, and C frames, allowing the drive to align with compatible cabinet backplates. The electronics use an uncoated printed circuit board, making the drive most appropriate for climate-controlled equipment rooms without persistent moisture or corrosive airborne contaminants. The drive has no brake chopper, so regenerative energy must be managed by the motor or suitable external equipment. Adaptation B is not included, and the C0, C1, D, and Safe Stop channels do not contain optional modules. This configuration omits additional fieldbus, input/output, and integrated safety hardware that is unnecessary for many standard fan and pump applications.
