The Danfoss 131B3527 belongs to the VLT FC 102 HVAC Drives series and serves as a variable-frequency drive for three-phase fan, pump, and compressor motors used in building automation. By modulating motor speed rather than relying on mechanical throttling, it helps maintain air-handling or chilled-water flow rates while reducing electrical energy use in ventilation and climate-control systems. In HVAC service, this speed control lets the connected motor respond more closely to changing airflow or fluid-demand conditions than fixed-speed operation. That operating method supports steady regulation in systems that run through varying daily and seasonal loads.

This model connects to a three-phase supply rated at 380–480 VAC and is intended for normal cabinet installation on A, B, or C mechanical frames. The chassis has an IP20 / Chassis protection level, so additional enclosure measures are needed in dusty or wet locations. Standard electromagnetic compatibility is supported by a built-in RFI filter. User interaction is provided through a graphical local control panel, while field wiring flexibility is expanded by the MCB-101 general-purpose I/O option card. The control electronics can ride through brief input power interruptions because the D-slot contains the MCB-107 24 V DC backup module. No brake chopper is fitted, so dynamic braking energy must be handled externally if that function is needed.

The drive uses standard cable entries, and the printed circuit boards are supplied without conformal coating, which makes the unit better suited to clean electrical rooms than corrosive areas.
