Product Description:
The 131B3449 is a variable frequency drive manufactured by Danfoss for the VLT FC 102 HVAC Drives series. It controls the speed of compatible induction motors by adjusting the frequency and voltage supplied to the motor. This capability allows air-handling units, cooling towers, and hydronic pump loops to respond to changing load demands instead of operating continuously at full speed. Variable-speed operation can reduce energy consumption while helping commercial climate-control systems maintain stable airflow, water flow, and pressure. The drive is designed for installation in building automation and HVAC systems that require reliable motor regulation across changing operating conditions.
The inverter delivers 18.5 kW of continuous output when connected to a 380–480 VAC supply. Its power section accepts three-phase power, allowing direct connection to common industrial mains without phase conversion equipment. The electronics are protected by an IP55 / Type 12 enclosure that limits the entry of dust and resists low-pressure water jets. This enclosure supports installation in locations where airborne debris or occasional moisture could reach the drive. The unit has no brake chopper, so an appropriate external method must handle regenerated energy if the connected motor produces significant braking energy. Its printed circuit boards are uncoated, making the drive most suitable for clean environments without substantial exposure to moisture, corrosive vapor, or conductive contaminants.
Conducted electrical emissions are reduced by an integrated RFI Class A1/B (C1) filter, which helps limit interference with nearby building controls and other sensitive electrical equipment. Parameter entry, operating data, and fault messages are available through the Graphical Local Control Panel. The panel provides a readable interface for adjusting motor settings, reviewing drive status, and accessing diagnostic information. It can also be detached and mounted on a cabinet door when the drive must remain enclosed but controls need to remain accessible. Power and control wiring pass through standard cable entries, simplifying cable routing and gland-plate assembly. The available option positions are unoccupied, preserving the base configuration and its standard mechanical footprint for conventional cabinet layouts.
