Product Description:
The 131B3318 is a variable-frequency drive manufactured by Danfoss for the VLT FC 102 HVAC Drives series. It converts fixed-frequency mains power into a regulated output for controlling fans, pumps, and compressors in building automation systems. Adjusting motor speed to match load demand can reduce energy use compared with systems that regulate flow only through dampers or valves. The drive also supports stable pressure, airflow, and temperature control in commercial and industrial facilities.
The inverter accepts a 380-480 VAC input and operates with three-phase power, allowing connection to common industrial distribution systems. Its IP55 / Type 12 housing protects the internal electronics from dust and sprayed liquids when the unit is installed correctly. An integrated RFI Class A1/B (C1) filter limits conducted electromagnetic emissions that could affect equipment connected to the same electrical network. Local operation and diagnostic access are provided through a graphical local control panel, which displays parameters, operating values, alarms, and trend information on a backlit screen. The drive has standard cable entries for metric glands, supporting organized routing for power, motor, and control wiring. Its uncoated printed circuit boards are suitable for dry equipment rooms where moisture and corrosive airborne contaminants are controlled.
The option bays are left available for compatible expansion modules that may be selected for the application. The drive has no brake chopper, so an appropriate external braking arrangement is required if the motor must decelerate rapidly or if the load returns substantial energy to the DC bus. Without a braking circuit, stopping performance depends on the programmed deceleration time, motor characteristics, load inertia, and the drive’s ability to manage regenerated energy. The included language package provides multilingual menus for configuration and routine operation, while the HVAC control platform supports functions commonly used with variable-torque fans and pumps. Cable glands, enclosure seals, grounding conductors, and external protective devices must be selected and installed in accordance with the connected motor, supply network, and installation environment.
