The 131B1273 is an AC variable frequency drive produced by Danfoss for the VLT FC 102 HVAC Drives series. It converts constant-frequency, three-phase mains power into a modulated output that allows building automation systems to regulate motor speed. This variable-speed operation is suitable for supply fans, return fans, pumps, and chillers that must respond to changing heating or cooling demand. Matching motor output to the required airflow or fluid flow can reduce unnecessary energy consumption compared with constant-speed operation.
The drive delivers a continuous mechanical output of 11 kW, which corresponds to 15 HP. It accepts an input supply ranging from 380–480 VAC, making it suitable for common industrial and commercial electrical distribution systems. The unit operates with three-phase power and therefore connects directly to a compatible three-phase supply without phase conversion equipment. Its IP21 / Type 1 enclosure prevents accidental finger contact with internal components and protects the electronics from vertically falling water drops. This enclosure is intended for dry indoor installation using the applicable B, C, D, or E frame arrangement. Standard cable entries support routine power and control wiring, while the uncoated printed circuit boards are intended for locations without unusually corrosive airborne contaminants. The unit does not contain a brake chopper, which is generally unnecessary for fan and pump loads that do not require rapid regenerative braking.
An integrated RFI Class A1/B (C1) filter limits conducted electromagnetic emissions and can reduce the need for separate filtering components in compatible installations. Local operation is provided through a detachable graphical local control panel with a backlit display for viewing parameters, operating values, alarms, and trend data. The multilingual VLT HVAC Drive language pack presents menu information in supported languages and uses terminology associated with the FC 102 platform. The panel can be removed when direct local access is not required, while the drive remains available for control through the connected building automation system. Field-installable accessories can be added when later system changes require additional communication or control functions.
