Product Description:
The FC-301P55KT4131B8630 is an AC motor controller produced by Danfoss and supplied within the VLT FC 301 Automation Drives series. It is intended for three-phase induction motors used in conveyors, pumps, and general machine control, where adjustable speed can reduce mechanical shock during starts and improve process consistency during normal operation. By adjusting output frequency and voltage, the unit regulates shaft speed while its built-in functions allow direct integration of digital and pulse references from PLCs and sensors. This allows the controller to fit both simple standalone machines and coordinated automation cells that rely on standard industrial control signals.
The drive delivers 75 hp at 460 V, with a rated power of 55 kW, and accepts mains supplies from 380–480 VAC on three phases. Its output frequency can be set anywhere between 0–590 Hz, while a dedicated flux mode limits excitation to 0–300 Hz for applications that require field-oriented control. For transient demands, the inverter tolerates 150% for 1 minute every 10 minutes of overload and can generate a start torque of 160% for 60 s. Output voltage follows 0–100% of the incoming line, so motor terminals receive proportional RMS values through the full speed range. Four standard digital inputs, with a fifth input available as an option, operate at 0–24 V DC, and a separate pulse input handles 0–110 kHz for high-resolution feedback. This combination allows the controller to receive basic command signals and higher-speed pulse references without extra interface hardware. Protective logic monitors the motor every half cycle to manage overload conditions during changing loads.
Ramp time can be narrowed or stretched from 0.01–3600 s without external hardware, allowing precise matching to load inertia during acceleration and deceleration. Continuous operation is specified up to 45 °C ambient, after which derating is required to limit thermal stress. The unit meets the efficiency target of energy class IE2, and its internal DC link helps manage braking energy during deceleration. Supply frequency tolerance of 50/60 Hz ±5% permits installation on global power grids that use either common mains frequency.
