Product Description:
The FC-301P3K7T2131X7298 is an AC variable frequency drive produced by Danfoss for the VLT FC 301 Automation Drives series. It converts a fixed-frequency, three-phase 200–240 V AC supply into a modulated waveform that allows an induction motor to match process speed and torque. The unit regulates pumps, fans, and conveyors where electronic speed control improves energy use and reduces mechanical stress.
In the power section, the inverter is rated for 3.7 kW, equivalent to 5.0 HP delivered at the motor shaft. It draws 15 A continuously from the mains and can provide 16.7 A of steady output current, so feeder conductors and motor leads must be sized for that load. At 230 V, the apparent power reaches 6.65 kVA, which is relevant when selecting fuses and contactors. Analog command channels are digitized with 10-bit resolution and accept ±20 V signals, while the 12-bit analog output can drive feedback devices with impedances as low as 500 Ω. Digital inputs have a resistance of 4 kΩ and tolerate 28 V DC, allowing direct wiring to most PLC cards without additional buffers. Shielded motor cable may extend up to 50 m, while unshielded cable may extend up to 75 m before exceeding electromagnetic compatibility limits.
Thermal performance includes an efficiency of 0.96 at rated current, leaving only 185 W of power loss that enclosure ventilation must remove. The control algorithm maintains rated flux up to 300 Hz, and extended pulse-width modulation supports speeds corresponding to an output frequency of 590 Hz, making the drive suitable for high-speed spindles. The unit handles three-phase power throughout its stated voltage range without derating and keeps motor torque linear across the programmed speed range. Its analog and digital interfaces allow process controllers to monitor load conditions precisely. The stated cable limits also help minimize common-mode noise in installations with long motor leads.
