Product Description:
The FC-301P37KT2131B5831 is a variable frequency drive from Danfoss in the VLT FC 301 Automation Drives series. It converts 200–240 VAC three-phase input power into a controlled output for induction or permanent-magnet motors used in production lines, packaging equipment, and material-handling systems. Rated for 37 kW shaft power, the unit adjusts motor speed by varying voltage and frequency, which helps reduce mechanical stress during starting and stopping while improving energy use.
In operation, the drive delivers a continuous apparent power of 57 kVA, which corresponds to a motor output of 50 HP when it is paired with a standard 4-pole motor. Supplied from a mains range of 200–240 VAC, it reaches an efficiency of 0.97 at rated current, so enclosure ventilation only needs to remove a limited amount of heat. The inverter can raise its synthesized output to a maximum of 590 Hz, while the flux-vector algorithm remains limited to 300 Hz to preserve accurate torque regulation. The switching stage supports carrier frequencies up to 32 kHz, which can help lower audible motor noise at reduced current. The drive allows only one power-up per minute, and the brake chopper engages at 390 V DC to absorb regenerative energy during rapid stops.
For system interfacing, one 12-bit analog output can drive loads up to 500 Ω, and two configurable digital outputs provide control signals at currents up to 40 mA. Shielded motor leads may be routed as far as 50 m, while unshielded leads can extend to 75 m without exceeding EMC or voltage-drop limits. The control card issues an overvoltage warning if the DC bus reaches 410 V DC, prompting the application to slow the motor or activate dynamic braking. The analog, digital, and warning functions allow the controller and connected motor circuit to exchange signals while the drive reacts to changing load conditions during operation.
