The FC-301P30KT2131H4129 is an AC variable frequency drive manufactured by Danfoss for the VLT FC 301 Automation Drives series. The unit converts fixed-frequency power into a regulated output that allows precise speed and torque control of induction motors in conveyors, pumps, and other automated plant equipment. By integrating torque regulation, system protection, and fieldbus-ready logic within one enclosure, the drive simplifies motor-control tasks encountered throughout industrial automation lines. Its compact frame and internal IGBT bridge make it suitable for panel or machine-mounted installations where cabinet space and wiring simplicity are priorities.
In operation, the drive accepts a 200 – 240 VAC three-phase supply and has an apparent power demand of 45.8 kVA at 230 V. The power stage is rated for a motor output of 30 kW and can deliver a continuous motor current of 115 A, while drawing 104 A from the line under the same duty. The active DC-link brake begins operating when the bus reaches 390 V DC, and separate warning and alarm thresholds are set at 405 V DC and 410 V DC to protect the power section. For dynamic motion, carrier modulation supports an upper output frequency of 590 Hz, while the control system provides two digital output channels that can each source up to 40 mA for relays or indicators.
The intermittent output rating is 173 A, allowing the drive to handle short acceleration periods or shock loads without unnecessary trips. Field-oriented control maintains flux at frequencies up to 300 Hz, and the power stage supports a motor size of 40 HP when imperial units are preferred. At rated load, the inverter dissipates 1143 W, and this heat must be removed through enclosure airflow or external cooling. Shielded motor leads may extend up to 50 m, while unshielded leads are limited to 75 m to maintain electromagnetic compatibility. These cable limits help control conducted and radiated interference between the drive, motor, and nearby control wiring.
