Product Description:
The FC-301P18KT2131B8969 is a variable frequency drive produced by Danfoss within the VLT FC 301 Automation Drives series. The unit converts fixed-frequency, three-phase mains power into a modulated output that allows plant controllers to adjust induction motor speed in conveyor, pump, and fan systems. By shaping the output voltage and frequency, it supplies regulated torque during startup and continuous operation in industrial automation. The compact inverter is designed for cabinet integration and provides the control functions needed for variable-speed machinery.
The drive accepts a three-phase input of 200–240 VAC, matching common low-voltage distribution networks. It can deliver 18.5 kW of continuous output power. A peak starting torque of 160% for 60 seconds helps accelerate heavy loads without requiring an oversized motor. Normal flux control is available at frequencies up to 300 Hz, while carrier switching supports a maximum output frequency of 590 Hz for high-speed motors. The flux control loop has a response time of 1 ms, whereas the VVC+ vector algorithm adjusts torque within 10 ms when process conditions change. Protection functions issue a high-voltage warning at 405 V DC and trigger an overvoltage alarm at 410 V DC. Dynamic braking engages at 390 V DC to dissipate excess energy returned by a decelerating motor.
During steady operation, the inverter sustains a variable-torque overload of 110% for 0.5 seconds, allowing it to withstand brief load disturbances without stopping the process. The maximum permitted phase imbalance is 3.0%, which helps maintain consistent performance across the three input phases. Shielded motor cables can extend up to 50 m, while unshielded cables can extend up to 75 m when installation conditions permit. Integrated power factor correction maintains a displacement power factor of greater than 0.98, and the true power factor remains at least 0.9 under nominal load. These electrical characteristics support stable motor control while limiting reactive current and reducing unnecessary loading on the supply network.
