Product Description:
The FC-301P15KT4131X6830 is an AC variable frequency drive produced by Danfoss as part of the VLT FC 301 Automation Drives series. Within the VLT AutomationDrive FC product group, it is used with three-phase induction motors to vary speed by adjusting output frequency and voltage. The device is installed in control cabinets where precise modulation of motor operation supports conveyors, pumps, and fans in automated plants. Its variable-speed control can match motor performance to changing process demands while maintaining stable operation across the connected machinery.
The inverter connects to industrial mains at 380–480 VAC and delivers up to 15 kW of continuous power, corresponding to 20 HP. It tolerates temporary load surges with an overload capacity of 160% for 1 min/10 min, allowing brief accelerations without tripping. The carrier frequency reaches 32 kHz, which reduces motor noise and improves the current waveform. The three-phase topology draws balanced current and is suitable for industrial three-phase power systems. Shielded motor leads can be run up to 50 m, while unshielded leads can extend to 75 m before reflected-wave voltage limits are approached. A safe torque off input draws 50 mA rms at 24 V for connection to machine safety circuits.
The control terminal block provides two analog inputs with 10-bit resolution and a maximum sourcing demand of 30 mA, enabling speed, torque, or process-variable references from PLCs. One analog output is available with 12-bit resolution for feedback signals such as motor current or output frequency. Discrete signaling is handled through two digital inputs rated for 28 V DC and two digital outputs that can sink or source up to 40 mA. The shortest recognized input pulse width is 4.5 ms, so signals requiring faster response should be transmitted through a suitable fieldbus rather than the standard terminals. These analog and digital connections allow the drive to exchange commands, operating states, and process data with an external control system.
