Product Description:

The 175L1001 variable frequency drive is produced by Danfoss as part of the VLT 3000 Variable Speed Drives series. Designed for three-phase induction motors, the unit rectifies incoming AC and generates a controlled PWM output so plant equipment can accelerate, decelerate, or hold constant speed under PLC command. By replacing mechanical throttling with electronic regulation, the drive supports steadier motor control and can improve process consistency in conveyor sections, pump loops, and ventilation systems. That electronic speed control can also reduce mechanical wear in systems that otherwise depend on dampers, throttles, or stepped gear changes.

Under constant-torque duty, the inverter supplies a rated output current of 2.6 A and an apparent power of 2.3 kVA, enabling motors up to 1.5 HP to run at nameplate load. Its transistor bridge switches at carrier frequencies that allow an output fundamental of up to 500 Hz, giving a wide operating range for high-speed tools or above-synchronous-speed fan service. Conversion efficiency reaches 0.96 at 100% load, so only modest waste heat must be removed from the panel. Matching current values on the input and output sides help simplify the selection of upstream wiring and protective devices, and the drive is intended to operate within those electrical limits during normal switching duty. Because the inverter can vary output frequency over a broad range, it can support both low-speed process control and higher-speed operation where the connected motor and load permit it.

A supply-side fuse of 10 A is required to clear fault currents, and the control logic limits switching commands to two per minute to reduce thermal stress on the power devices. The electronics remain functional at relative humidity up to 95 % noncondensing and in ambient air from -10 °C to 40 °C. The unit also withstands sinusoidal vibration of 0.7 g, which suits wall-mounted enclosures on process skids or other equipment subject to motion.
