Product Description:
The 175H7273 is an AC variable-speed drive produced by Danfoss within the VLT 3000 Variable Speed Drives series. In automated plants, it sits between the three-phase power supply and an induction motor, modulating frequency and voltage so conveyor sections, pumps, or fans can operate at the speed demanded by the process. By replacing mechanical throttling with electronic control, the unit helps reduce energy consumption and provides smooth motor starting. The drive is suitable for applications that require controlled acceleration, deceleration, and continuous speed adjustment under changing operating conditions.
Under constant-torque duty, the drive draws an input current of 12.6 A and can supply 14.5 A to the motor terminals. With a rated power of 7.5 kW, it supports medium-frame motors commonly used for material-handling tasks. The input section accepts a three-phase supply of 440, 460, or 500 V at 50/60 Hz, allowing the same model to operate with either North American or international line frequencies. Overall conversion efficiency reaches 0.96, meaning only four percent of incoming power is dissipated as heat. An IP20 enclosure protects live parts from accidental contact and permits installation inside a ventilated control cabinet. During variable-torque duty, the drive draws 19.6 A and delivers 21.7 A, while power loss is limited to 174 W. This power-loss level reduces the cooling demand inside the control panel.
The wiring terminals accommodate conductors up to 16.0 mm², allowing the use of low-resistance cables for long runs. Short-term overload capability reaches 23.2 A for 60 seconds, while upstream circuit protection can have a maximum pre-fuse rating of 30.0 A. The control electronics permit two switching cycles per minute at the power input, which prevents excessive thermal stress on the inverter bridge. An integral RFI filter attenuates conducted emissions and helps the installation remain within applicable electromagnetic compatibility limits. The assembly has a weight of 25 kg, which should be considered when selecting panel supports and mounting hardware.
