Product Description:
The 175H7270 is an AC variable frequency drive manufactured by Danfoss within the VLT 3000 Variable Speed Drives series. Designed for pump, fan, and conveyor duties, the unit converts fixed-frequency three-phase mains power into a regulated output that lets plant controllers match motor speed to load demand. By modulating voltage and frequency simultaneously, the drive delivers constant-torque or variable-torque operation while maintaining motor protection, making it a practical component in industrial automation where energy savings and accurate process control are required.
Under constant-torque settings, the inverter supplies a continuous output current of 13.0 A, translating to a shaft power capability of 5.5 kW and an apparent output of 9.3 kVA. Momentary overloads are accommodated by a peak current of 20.8 A, allowing acceleration without nuisance trips. The thermal design limits internal dissipation to 200 W at rated load, and overall conversion efficiency reaches 0.96, so only a small fraction of incoming energy is lost as heat. These electrical values determine cabinet ventilation requirements and the size of upstream protection devices. A 25 A prefuse provides adequate short-circuit protection while leaving headroom for dynamic current spikes during heavy starts.
The enclosure carries an ingress protection rating of IP54, permitting installation in dusty areas where splashing water may be present. Power terminals accept conductors up to 2.5 mm², and the drive can energize motors located as far as 300 m away. When shielded leads are required, the maximum shielded cable length is 150 m. In variable-torque mode, the inverter delivers an output current of 16.0 A, supporting an apparent output of 11.5 kVA and a shaft power capability of 7.5 kW for centrifugal loads. The drive withstands vibration of up to 0.7 g, and its assembly weight of 15.0 kg simplifies wall or panel mounting.
