175H7240 is an industrial frequency converter. This Danfoss VLT 3002 series unit can be connected to 3-phase AC mains supply. The main function of the converter is motor control. It performs motor control by supply AC power to the motor and varying the amplitude and frequency of the AC power. The AC input to the converter has fixed amplitude and frequency. To create a controlled output, the converter performs a double-conversion: the input AC is converter to intermediate DC, which is then converted to a controller AC output. The first stage of the conversion is carried output by a rectifier. Electronic circuits smoothen the intermediate DC and remove any residual harmonics. A control card controls the pulse-width modulation input to an inverter to create AC output with desired amplitude and frequency. The range of AC output amplitude can vary from 0 to 100% of the AC input.
The output frequency is programmable and can range from 0 to 500 Hertz or 0 to 120 Hertz. Rated input of the 175H7240 converter is 380 / 400 / 415 Volts.
