Product Description:
The 175H7238 variable frequency drive is produced by Danfoss for the VLT 3000 Variable Speed Drives series. It converts fixed mains frequency into a regulated three-phase output, allowing induction motors to match process demand in conveyor, fan, and pump stations. Within an automation cabinet, the drive serves as the power stage in a PLC-driven speed loop, supplying controlled voltage and frequency to the connected motor while coordinating with external protection devices.
In constant torque mode, the inverter delivers a continuous output current of 2.8 A, resulting in a constant apparent power of 2.0 kVA at rated voltage. For short acceleration periods, it can withstand a current of 3.5 A, enabling extra motor torque without exceeding thermal limits. Internal losses are limited to 60 W, and the overall energy conversion efficiency reaches 0.96, so most input power is delivered through the drive output. Danfoss uses grounding and short-circuit protection as the built-in drive protection strategy, and unlimited output switching permits the control system to issue frequent run commands while the drive is operating. The unit accepts up to two input starts per minute, which helps limit mechanical and electrical stress on internal components. The drive weighs 7.4 kg, allowing it to be mounted in compatible control panels without unusually heavy support hardware.
The drive is delivered in an enclosure classified as IP00, so it must be fitted inside a closed control cabinet that provides adequate airflow and protection from contact. Motor leads may be run up to 300 m when unshielded or 150 m when shielded, provided the conductor size does not exceed 2.5 mm². Upstream circuit protection relies on a 16 A fuse. At the motor side, the inverter supports a rated output of 1.1 kW. Its vibration endurance is 0.7 g, supporting operation on properly secured skid-mounted or wall-mounted panels. Appropriate cable routing and cabinet ventilation help maintain stable operation within the stated installation limits.
