Product Description:
The 175H4473 variable-frequency drive is produced by Danfoss for the VLT 3000 Variable Speed Drives series. It modulates three-phase line power so that induction motors can operate at commanded speeds in conveyors, pumps, fans, automated plants, and HVAC systems. This speed control allows motor torque and energy use to be matched to the demands of each application rather than maintaining full-speed operation under every load condition.
An operating efficiency of 0.96 helps reduce conversion losses and limits heat accumulation inside the cabinet. The drive is housed in an IP20 enclosure, providing finger-safe protection when installed in a clean indoor panel. During steady operation, it draws an input current of 41.7 A, and its terminals accommodate conductors with cross-sectional areas up to 35.0 mm². The recommended upstream pre-fuse is rated at 80.0 A to provide suitable circuit protection. When connected to a constant-torque motor, the inverter delivers a nominal shaft power of 11.0 kW. Its control section permits no more than two starts per minute to protect the power semiconductors from excessive switching stress. Continuous output reaches 46.0 A and 18.3 kVA, while electronic thermal protection reduces or interrupts operation if the internal temperature exceeds safe limits.
For acceleration or transient load changes, the inverter can supply a peak output current of 73.6 A. It returns to its continuous operating level after the temporary demand, and output-side switching is permitted without a specified numerical limit. Thermal dissipation at full load is 615.0 W, so the enclosure must provide adequate airflow and sufficient clearance around the heat sink. The assembly weighs 49.0 kg, requiring a back plate and mounting hardware suitable for its mass. Its vibration resistance is rated at 0.7 g, which supports installation near machinery that produces moderate mechanical vibration. Variable-torque applications with motor outputs up to 15.0 kW can operate without derating, and built-in electronic monitoring adjusts operating limits when necessary to protect internal components.
