Product Description:
The 175H4452 variable-speed drive is produced by Danfoss as a member of the VLT 3000 Variable Speed Drives series. It converts fixed-frequency mains power into an adjustable electrical output for controlling induction motors. This output allows automation controllers to regulate motor speed and torque in response to changing process demands. The drive supports conveyors, pumps, fans, and general process equipment that require precise electrical regulation instead of mechanical throttling. Its variable-frequency operation can reduce unnecessary motor output when an application does not require full speed.
This model operates from a three-phase supply rated at 200/230 V and draws an input current of 17.5 A during constant-torque service. It delivers a continuous output current of 19.0 A for sustained motor operation. The output can reach 25.0 A when the variable-torque profile is selected for fan or pump duty. The inverter is rated for a nominal motor load of 4.0 kW and provides an apparent output power of 7.6 kVA. Thermal and magnetic protection are coordinated with a 40 A pre-fuse to protect the power circuit under fault conditions. An integrated brake chopper supports rapid motor deceleration without requiring separate brake-control hardware. The IP20 housing is intended for installation inside a ventilated control cabinet, where it remains protected from accidental contact with live components. A built-in RFI filter attenuates conducted electrical noise at the mains terminals and helps limit interference with nearby equipment.
Energy conversion efficiency reaches 0.96, limiting waste heat to a measured 270 W during nominal operation. The unit supports motor cables up to 300 m long and accepts copper conductors with a cross-sectional area of up to 16.0 mm². These cable allowances permit the drive to be installed at a practical distance from the connected motor while keeping conductor sizing within the stated limits. The enclosure withstands sinusoidal vibration levels of 0.7 g, making it suitable for securely mounted industrial control cabinets. Its steel chassis weighs 24.0 kg, providing a stable structure for panel mounting. Adequate cabinet airflow should be maintained around the IP20 enclosure so that heat generated during continuous operation can dissipate effectively.
