Product Description:
The 175H4425 is the variable speed drive manufactured by Danfoss that can be applied in several industrial systems used to regulate the speed of motors. It is configured to give 22.0 kW of power at the outlet and has a rated motor voltage of 440/460/500 V at supported frequencies of 50 - 100 Hz. This drive is designed for wall mounting and it comes in an IP20 enclosure.
The 175H4425 drive provides both constant torque (CT) and variable torque (VT) modes, in CT mode the drive offers a rated current of 41.4 A and the output power is 36 kVA with a typical shaft output of 22 kW but in VT mode the shaft output exceeds to 30 kW with a rated current of 54 A and output power is 46.8 kVA. It is built with electronic thermal protection and it provides advanced motor overload protection based on the thermal load. This unit can also connect to a thermistor and possess protection against short-circuits and earth faults. It supports communication via RS485 to offer flexibility for system integrations and it achieves efficiency up to 96% efficiency at full load. The 175H drive provides ramp timing range of 0.1 to 3600 sec and unlimited switching at the output, while very frequent switching may generate a fault message. It provides 2 times/minute of switching at the input and uses 60 A pre-fuse.
The 175H4425 drive’s ambient operating temperature ranges from -10°C to +40°C at full load in CT mode and from -10°C to +45°C in VT mode. It is built to handle motor’s unscreened cable length up to 300 meters, with maximum cross-section of up to 35 mm². The unit’s EMC compliance ensures that it meets the EN 55011, EN 55014 and IEC 1000-4-2 standards for electromagnetic compatibility.
Frequently Asked Questions about 175H4425:
Q: How does the CT mode of the 175H4425 benefit heavy-load starting?
A: The CT mode ensures consistent torque during heavy-load starts, reducing motor slip and stress. It protects the motor by delivering stable current even under stall conditions.
Q: Why is RS485 communication important for the 175H4425?
A: The RS485 enables reliable, long-distance serial communication in industrial networks, allowing remote monitoring and control. It integrates with PLC systems and SCADA environments seamlessly.
Q: What role does the 60 A pre-fuse play in the 175H4425?
A: The 60 A pre-fuse safeguards the drive from upstream overcurrent events, preventing damage to internal components. It simplifies field maintenance when replacement is needed.
Q: Why does 175H4425 limit switching frequency at the input to twice-per-minute?
A: Frequent input switching can cause voltage transients and thermal stress. Limiting to two per minute ensures stable operation and avoids unnecessary fault triggers.
Q: In what way does electronic thermal protection benefit the 175H4425?
A: The electronic thermal protection tracks internal temperature and proactively reduces output or shuts down to prevent overheating. It enhances reliability and prolongs drive life in fluctuating environments.
