The 175H4421 is a variable frequency drive manufactured by Danfoss for the VLT 3000 Variable Speed Drives series. It converts fixed-frequency three-phase power into a controllable output that governs induction motor speed in industrial automation systems such as pumps, fans, and material-handling conveyors. By adjusting motor frequency and voltage, the unit supports precise torque regulation and energy savings in process plants and other industrial facilities.
Under constant-torque duty, the drive draws a maximum line current of 30.7 A and can supply the motor with 32.0 A. A short-term overload limit of 51.2 A is available for acceleration or shock loads. The inverter’s thermal design supports a nominal motor output of 15.0 kW with an operating efficiency factor of 0.96, limiting waste heat and reducing cabinet ventilation requirements. It is rated to supply motors that require 380/400/415 V across the terminals. Constant-torque operation produces 580 W of power loss, whereas variable-torque duty increases the output capability to 44.0 A and produces 880 W of power loss. The unit has a vibration tolerance of 0.7 g.
The aluminum housing carries an IP54 rating, limiting dust ingress and resisting water splashes when the drive is mounted on a wall. Supply conductors up to 16.0 mm² fit the terminals, and motor leads can extend up to 300 m when unshielded or 150 m when shielded to control electromagnetic noise. A shielded installation uses the grounding terminal provided for shield continuity. Internal fans support continuous operation at variable-torque ratings, while the total mass of 48.0 kg must be considered when selecting panel supports and lifting equipment. Field wiring must observe the 63 A fuse limit to maintain coordinated short-circuit protection.
