Product Description:
The 175H4409 is an AC variable-speed drive produced by Danfoss for the VLT 3000 Variable Speed Drives series. The device modulates incoming three-phase power so that automation controllers can vary induction motor speed without mechanical throttling. Typical duties include pump, fan, and conveyor regulation, where electronic adjustment can improve throughput and reduce energy consumption. The housing measures 950 mm high, 308 mm wide, and 296 mm deep, allowing it to fit within compatible control cabinets while leaving space for peripheral components. These dimensions should be considered together with the required airflow and electrical clearances when planning the panel layout.
The drive operates with an efficiency of 0.96, meaning that approximately four percent of the input energy is lost during continuous operation. Internal components are protected by an IP20 enclosure, so the unit must be installed in a clean, dry panel because the housing does not protect against water. The rectifier draws an input current of 21.8 A when configured for constant-torque operation. The inverter can provide an overload output of 38.4 A for 60 seconds to accelerate heavy loads. Under rated conditions, the drive supports a motor output of 11.0 kW, while its apparent output is 17.2 kVA for electrical system sizing. A 63 A pre-fuse and 16.0 mm² supply conductors are used with this frame size.
The drive produces a power loss of 425 W, so cabinet ventilation must remove the resulting heat to keep internal components within their operating limits. Motor leads can extend up to 300 m without exceeding the applicable drive-to-motor voltage-drop guidelines, supporting installations in which the motor is located far from the control cabinet. The drive withstands vibration levels of up to 0.7 g, allowing operation on suitable machinery skids and mezzanines. Its mass is 26.0 kg, which must be considered when selecting mounting hardware and planning lifting procedures. Adequate structural support helps prevent movement at the mounting points while the connected machinery is operating.
