Product Description:
The 175H4142 is a variable frequency drive built by Danfoss for the VLT 3000 Variable Speed Drives series. This unit modulates three-phase mains power to control induction motor speed in conveyors, pumps, and other process equipment where accurate torque regulation and energy savings are required. A built-in brake circuit lets the drive apply dynamic braking torque directly to the connected motor, improving stop times for vertical axes or high-inertia loads.
The power section accepts a supply of 3 × 380/400/415 V AC at 50/60 Hz, so it connects to common industrial networks without transformers. Rated operation delivers 5.6 A of output current, while temporary overloads are handled by up to 9.0 A for 60 seconds during acceleration or deceleration. Continuous output capacity is 4.0 kVA, coordinated with a 2.2 kW motor rating and protected upstream by a 16 A pre-fuse. Input demand peaks at 7.0 A under full load, and the DC brake applies 28 V across the stator during stopping. Installation flexibility is supported by 2.5 mm² terminal blocks, motor cable runs of up to 300 m, and a 150 m limit when shielded conductors are required for EMC compliance.
The housing carries an IP54 rating, allowing cabinet-free mounting in dusty or splash-prone areas, while the internal fan removes the heat generated by 130 W of power loss. Electrical efficiency is 0.96, reducing waste heat and lowering cooling demands in closed panels. The drive has a mechanical footprint that matches other models in the 3000 series, which supports consistent mounting arrangements in equipment panels. Its output capacity is suitable for midrange pumps and fans commonly found in HVAC systems or light manufacturing. A factory-integrated brake relay simplifies wiring because no external contactor is needed to energize the braking resistor during controlled stops.
