Product Description:
The 175H2904 is a variable frequency drive manufactured by Danfoss within the VLT 3000 Variable Speed Drives series. Intended for AC motor control in production lines, conveyors, and pump systems, the unit modulates applied voltage and frequency so plant controllers can match motor speed to real-time load demands. It connects directly to three-phase mains and fits standard panel-mounting slots, providing a compact method for replacing mechanical throttling with electronic regulation in industrial automation.
On the input side, the converter accepts a three-phase supply of 380/400/415 V with a ±10% tolerance and operates on industrial grids at 50/60 Hz. From this supply, it delivers a rated shaft power of 2.2 kW, supported by a continuous output current of 4.8 A. Electrical conversion losses are kept low, and operating efficiency reaches 96% at full load, reducing heat buildup in control cabinets. When motor torque rises briefly, the input section can draw 5.6 A continuously and up to 6.2 A for 60-second intervals, while the inverter side supplies 5.3 A during the same overload period. The analog reference port has an impedance of 10 kΩ to protect upstream PLC analog outputs. Six digital inputs are powered by an internal 24 VDC source rated at 140 mA.
The inverter can produce a fundamental frequency of up to 120 Hz, allowing overspeed operation with suitably rated motors. The drive has a power loss of 100 W at maximum load, which helps determine the ventilation needed in the control cabinet. Full-load performance is maintained at ambient temperatures up to 40 °C; above this temperature, derating is required to protect the semiconductors. For field wiring, the drive supports unshielded motor cables up to 1000 ft long without exceeding applicable motor insulation limits for voltage rise rates. Short-term current capacity allows the converter to respond to temporary load increases while maintaining controlled motor operation.
