Product Description:
The 175H1748 is a variable frequency drive produced by Danfoss for the VLT 3000 Variable Speed Drives series. It modulates three-phase power so that asynchronous motors can run over a broad speed range while maintaining process accuracy and reducing energy consumption in automated machinery. By adjusting output frequency and voltage, the unit provides motor control for conveyor sections, centrifugal pumps, and fan assemblies. It also integrates thermal monitoring circuitry to protect the power stage against overload.
The drive operates from a 3 × 440/460/500 V AC ±10% supply and supports 50 or 60 Hz utility grids. Under rated conditions, it delivers 5.5 kW to the motor while providing a nominal output current of 11.1 A. Heat dissipation remains limited to 200 W, contributing to an overall efficiency of 0.96. The painted housing is rated at IP54, so the internal electronics are protected against dust deposits and water splashes. Generated sound pressure is limited to 57 dBA, allowing installation in equipment rooms without special sound insulation.
Transient mechanical demands are handled by a current reserve of 17.6 A for 60 seconds, permitting short overloads without nuisance trips. A factory-installed brake module improves deceleration profiles when fast stops are required. The maximum permitted conductor size is 2.5 mm², and the terminal set supports a motor cable up to 300 m long. For installations requiring complete shielding, the maximum shielded cable length is 150 m. Upstream protection is provided by a 25 A fuse that limits fault energy entering the inverter. The drive can withstand vibration levels up to 0.7 g, allowing panel mounting near reciprocating machinery when the enclosure is properly secured. At full load, the inverter can supply 9.6 kVA of apparent power to the motor, supporting the torque requirements of standard 5.5 kW machines.
