Product Description:
The 175H1743 is an AC variable frequency drive produced by Danfoss as part of the VLT 3000 Variable Speed Drives series. The unit regulates the speed of three-phase induction motors by converting fixed mains frequency into a controlled output, allowing precise adjustment of pumps, fans, and material-handling equipment in automated plants. By integrating control electronics and power conversion in one housing, this drive simplifies installation in panel-mounted industrial automation systems.
The drive supplies a continuous output current of 8.2 A, which is the RMS load it can feed indefinitely without thermal derating. Under these conditions, it delivers 7.1 kVA of apparent power to the motor terminals while achieving an efficiency of 0.96, so only 4 percent of the input energy becomes heat. For short-term overloads, the inverter can furnish 13.1 A and 11.3 kVA for up to 60 seconds, giving machines extra torque during acceleration or process upsets. The shaft output rating is 4.0 kW, indicating the mechanical power available after conversion losses. Output switching is unlimited, enabling high-frequency PWM control. The input section permits up to two starts per minute to protect upstream contactors. Internal power loss is 160 W, and the resulting heat is dissipated through the aluminum heat sink.
The housing carries an IP54 rating, protecting the drive against dust and splashing water in industrial installations. Motor and mains conductors may have cross-sectional areas of up to 2.5 mm². Supply protection should use pre-fuses no larger than 25 A to coordinate fault clearing with the semiconductor bridge. The drive meets a vibration test limit of 0.7 g, allowing installation on machine frames without additional dampers. The assembly weighs 14 kg, keeping the panel load modest for wall-mounted installations.
