Product Description:
The 175H1741 is an AC variable frequency drive manufactured by Danfoss within the VLT 3000 Variable Speed Drives series. It modulates three-phase mains in the 440, 460, or 500 V class to regulate induction motor speed and torque in pumps, conveyors, and general process equipment. By adjusting output frequency rather than using mechanical throttling, the unit provides energy-efficient motion control for industrial automation tasks that demand reliable torque under varying loads.
The drive’s continuous output is rated at 8.2 A and delivers 7.1 kVA of apparent power to the motor terminals. During 60-second overload events, it can sustain 13.1 A and 11.3 kVA, providing headroom for acceleration or momentary load spikes. Its open-chassis IP00 enclosure requires installation inside a protected panel, where a 25 A upstream fuse limits fault energy. The motor terminals accept leads up to 2.5 mm², and the permitted cable length reaches 300 m for applications that require remote motor placement. Electronic thermal protection with a DIN 44081 thermistor monitors motor winding temperature, while the drive withstands 0.7 g of sinusoidal vibration during cabinet or skid mounting.
The operational efficiency of 0.96 minimizes wasted power during normal operation. The remaining 160 W of power loss must be removed through the enclosure’s airflow to keep internal temperatures within an acceptable range. Panel ventilation should be sized for this thermal load during continuous operation. The drive supports a motor power rating of 4.0 kW, making it suitable for midsized motors in HVAC and material-handling systems. At 12 kg, the unit adds moderate weight to the control cabinet while remaining manageable during installation. The mounting surface and cabinet supports must accommodate the drive’s weight and operating vibration.
