The 175H1692 is an adjustable frequency drive. These drives control the speed and torque of an electric motor by varying the frequency and voltage of the electrical power supplied to it. The drives first convert incoming AC power to DC with a rectifier. Capacitors and other circuits are used to smooth out the DC power. The DC power is finally converted back to AC with variable frequency and voltage with an inverter. The speed of AC motors is directly related to the frequency of the power supply, and by changing the frequency, these drives can control motor speed precisely. Input voltage for the 175H1692 drive is 380/400/415 Volts. The drive can work with constant and quadratic loads. Its output is 50 Horsepower with constant loads and 60 Horsepower with quadratic loads.
The nominal current output is 73 Amps with constant loads and 88 Amps with quadratic loads. The nominal power output is 52.3 kVA with constant loads and 63.3 kVA with quadratic loads. The maximum motor size is 60 Horsepower with constant loads and 75 Horsepower with quadratic loads. When unshielded cables are used the motor cable can have a maximum length of 1000 feet. Integrated motor thermal protection is available on the drive unit. During routine operations, the 175H1692 drive draws 66.5 Amps when used with constant loads and 80 Amps when used with quadratic loads. At 50 Hertz, the power factor is 0.9 and at 60 Hertz the power factor is 1.0. At full load the converter operates at 96% efficiency. As per VDE 0160, the preferred ambient temperature is -10 to 40/45 ⁰C for ct/vt operation. The unit is designed to comply with VDE 0871 and EN 50081 EMC standards.
