The 175H1688 is a VLT 3000 series Danfoss frequency converter. Its sub series is VLT 3052. The converter’s main function is motor speed control. It controls motors by varying the parameters of its AC output. To create variable AC, the converter passes the input AC through a two-stage conversion process. This process is necessary because the fixed parameters of the mains AC supply do not lend themselves to direct motor control. The first stage of the conversion process, known as rectification, converts AC input to intermediate DC. Additional circuits improve the quality of the DC waveform by removing ripples and other artifacts. A second controlled conversion process inverts the DC to output AC. With controlled conversion, the converter can supply variable AC output to the motor.
The voltage supplied to the motor can vary from 0 to 100% of the input amplitude. The output frequency can be within the following ranges: 0 to 120 Hertz or 0 to 500 Hertz. Constant load output of the 175H1688 converter is 50 Horsepower. The continuous and intermitted output current are 73 Amps and 117 Amps. The continuous and intermitted power output are 52.3 kVA and 84.1 Amps. The values for intermitted output are only valid for 60 seconds.
