Product Description:
The 175H1684 is a variable frequency drive produced by Danfoss for the VLT 3000 Variable Speed Drives series. Designed for cabinet mounting in process lines, it converts fixed-frequency three-phase power into a regulated output that matches the speed and torque requirements of induction motors. The drive forms the central actuator in automated conveyors, mixers, and pump stations where electronic speed control replaces mechanical throttling, improving energy use and allowing precise response to a PLC reference. Because it accepts standard industrial mains and provides proportional voltage-frequency regulation, it integrates easily with existing plant wiring.
During transient acceleration the inverter supplies a 60-second overload of 97.6 A, giving headroom for high inertia starts without nuisance trips. Once steady state is reached, it draws 55.6 A from the mains and feeds the motor with 61.0 A, producing 44.0 kVA at the output terminals. Internal IGBT losses amount to 1 390 W, and with an operational efficiency of 96% only a small fraction of energy becomes heat. The silicon limits set continuous output to the 30.0 kW rating, and the design permits two energizations per minute so junction temperatures remain within safe cycling limits.
For plant environments that carry airborne dust and occasional water spray, the housing is sealed to IP54. Line protection uses a 100 A pre-fuse, while terminals accept conductors up to 35 mm². The drive can operate a motor mounted as far as 300 m away; when screened cabling is required for EMC compliance the length is limited to 150 m, and the built-in RFI filter removes the need for external suppression. Vibration tolerance is specified at 0.7 g so the unit withstands typical panel resonance. Overall mass reaches 69 kg, and support rails must accommodate that weight during installation and maintenance.
