Product Description:
The 175H1674 is an AC variable frequency drive manufactured by Danfoss within the VLT 3000 Variable Speed Drives series. Intended for induction motor control, it converts fixed mains power into a modulated output so plant controllers can adjust pump, fan, or conveyor speed as process demands change. By matching motor torque to the load, the unit helps reduce energy use and mechanical wear in automated equipment. The variable output also allows machinery to operate at the speed required by the process instead of running continuously at full speed.
With an operating efficiency of 0.96, the drive passes most of the supplied electrical energy to the motor and limits heat generation inside the control cabinet. Its enclosure is rated at IP20, so live parts are finger-safe, but the drive must be mounted in a clean panel. On the mains side, a maximum input current of 41.9 A sets the required cable and circuit breaker capacity, while the inverter section can deliver a constant-torque output of 44.0 A to the motor terminals. The continuous power capability is 22.0 kW, and short-term overloads are tolerated up to 70.4 A for 60 seconds to handle acceleration peaks or clear jams. At 400 V, this output corresponds to 31.6 kVA of apparent power in constant-torque mode. In cyclic applications, these electrical values support drive sizing based on the expected load and operating cycle.
The terminals accept conductors up to 35.0 mm², providing flexibility when selecting power cables for the installation. Motor leads may run up to 300 m when unshielded or 150 m when shielded without exceeding the drive’s switching limits. The permissible upstream protection is an 80 A prefuse, matched to the output voltage class that supports a variable-torque power rating of 44.0 kVA. During full-load operation, the converter dissipates 880 W as heat, which must be considered when sizing panel cooling. Its mass of 49 kg requires suitable enclosure bracing and secure mounting hardware. Compliance with a 0.7 g vibration test supports operation in typical factory-floor conditions where nearby machinery may transmit low-level vibration to the enclosure.
