Product Description:
The VACON0020-3L-0038-4+DLCN belongs to the VACON 20 Low Voltage Drives series from Danfoss. It is a compact AC drive intended for panel-mounted speed regulation of three-phase induction motors in automated machinery. By modulating the output frequency, it lets control systems match motor speed to process demand, thereby reducing energy use and mechanical stress in conveyors, pumps, and general material-handling equipment.
The drive delivers a continuous output of 38 A and supports motors up to 18.5 kW, while its nominal line draw is 41.7 A; a 40 A gR fuse is specified on the mains side for circuit protection. Default carrier operation at 4 kHz balances switching losses with acoustic noise, and speed commands can be adjusted in 0.01 Hz steps because of the 0.01 Hz frequency resolution. Three-phase input simplifies connection in standard industrial switchboards, and the mains cable cross section of 3 × 10 + 10 mm² accommodates the required current density. Dynamic braking can be added with an external resistor of at least 17 Ω, while the internal DC bus accommodates the resulting energy. The unit’s control and power sections are cooled by ambient air that moves through the chassis at 75 m³/h.
The frame has a width of 165 mm, a depth of 202 mm, and a height of 414 mm. With a mass of 11 kg, the package can be mounted on DIN rails or backplates without additional supports. The enclosure carries an IP21 / NEMA 1 rating, so installation inside a clean electrical cabinet provides sufficient ingress protection. For intermittent acceleration or heavy-duty starts, the inverter tolerates an output surge of 57 A. Adequate clearance around the forced-air passages helps prevent heat buildup within the chassis during sustained operation.
