The VACON0020-3L-0016-4+EMC2+QPES+DLDE is a low-voltage AC drive produced by Danfoss within the VACON 20 Low Voltage Drives series. It modulates the mains supply to regulate the speed of three-phase induction motors in conveyors, pumps, and general automation applications. By converting fixed-frequency power into a variable-frequency output, the unit enables precise torque control while maintaining the compact cabinet footprint often required in distributed machine cells.
At a rated motor power of 7.5 kW, the inverter delivers a continuous output current of 16 A to the motor terminals, while its input side draws a nominal 17.1 A from the three-phase supply. Upstream protection is provided by a 25 A fuse, and the drive can tolerate short-term overloads of up to 24 A during heavy acceleration or process peaks. The minimum brake resistance is 28 Ω, which is the lowest resistor value that may be connected across the DC link to dissipate dynamic braking energy. A C2 EMC filter is fitted, allowing conducted emissions to comply with industrial network limits without an external line choke. The input section accepts three phases directly, and motor leads may extend up to 50 m before additional filtering is required to control voltage reflections.
The enclosure measures 165 mm wide, 165 mm deep, and 370 mm high, allowing installation in shallow panels. Its IP21 / NEMA 1 enclosure protects against incidental contact and vertically falling water drops, making the drive suitable for indoor cabinet mounting where basic ingress protection is sufficient. The drive withstands mechanical shocks of up to 15 G during transport. Mains conductors sized 3 × 6 mm² and a dedicated 6 mm² protective ground conductor connect through clamp terminals. This wiring arrangement completes the power circuit while supporting the performance of the integrated EMC filter.
