The VACON0020-3L-0009-4-R02 is a low-voltage AC drive manufactured by Danfoss as part of the VACON 20 Low Voltage Drives series. It modulates fixed-frequency mains power so that an automation controller can vary induction motor speed, which improves process efficiency and reduces mechanical stress on pumps, fans, and small conveyors in industrial plants. Parameter settings are entered through the front keypad or downloaded over the optional serial interface, allowing configurations to be duplicated across multiple drives.

This model accepts a three-phase supply and draws a nominal line current of 11.5 A when running at full voltage. Inside the inverter bridge, transistor switching supports a continuous output of 9 A, matching motors rated near 4 kW. For short acceleration periods, the current limit rises to 13.5 A, providing additional starting torque without tripping the protection logic. Six digital inputs and two analog inputs provide logic control and speed reference signals, while two relay outputs forward status information to upstream PLCs. The mains and motor terminals accept 3 × 2.5 mm² conductors with a separate 2.5 mm² grounding conductor, simplifying wiring because the same cable size can be used on both sides of the drive.

Branch circuit protection is coordinated with a 20 A fuse so that upstream devices clear faults before semiconductor damage occurs. Motor leads can extend up to 30 m without added output filters, keeping installation hardware minimal in compact machines. The unit has a height of 254.3 mm, a width of 100 mm, and a depth of 109 mm, allowing it to fit inside shallow enclosures. Its low mass of 0.99 kg allows DIN-rail or panel mounting without heavy support brackets. The compact enclosure can be installed close to the motor load when cable routes and panel clearances permit.
