Product Description:
The VACON0020-3L-0007-2-X-R02 is a low-voltage AC drive manufactured by Danfoss for the VACON 20 Low Voltage Drives series. It converts fixed three-phase mains power into a variable-frequency output that lets control systems regulate induction motor speed on conveyors, mixers, and small pump skids in automated plants. Through pulse-width-modulated switching, the drive provides torque matching and soft starts, reducing mechanical stress and energy consumption during production cycles.
During normal operation, the drive supplies a continuous output of 7 A and is protected upstream by a 10 A semiconductor fuse that limits fault energy. Speed commands are adjusted with a frequency resolution of 0.01 Hz, enabling fine incremental changes to shaft velocity. The inverter supports up to 1.5 kW of motor power while remaining within a compact frame. For short acceleration bursts, the current ceiling rises to 10.5 A, letting the motor overcome inertia without nuisance trips. The input bridge accepts a three-phase supply and draws a nominal 8.4 A under rated load, matching 3 × 1.5 mm² mains conductors. The housing measures 195 mm high, 90 mm wide, and 102 mm deep, allowing it to fit in densely populated panels. The motor terminals accommodate a 3 × 1.5 + 1.5 mm² cable.
The built-in braking transistor accepts external resistors with values as low as 50 Ω, allowing controlled deceleration without excessive speed variation. The installation mass is only 0.7 kg, so a suitable DIN rail can support the unit without additional bracketing. The compact MI2 frame accommodates the specified mains and motor conductors, minimizing the required cable bend radius in tight spaces. Air cooling supports side-by-side mounting when the required installation clearances are maintained, while the housing height leaves room for cable ducts above the unit.
