Product Description:
The VACON0020-3L-0003-4-CP is an AC variable frequency drive supplied by Danfoss within the VACON 20 Low Voltage Drives series. It converts fixed-frequency three-phase power into a controllable output waveform so that small-frame asynchronous motors can match process demands instead of running at a constant line speed. Embedded application macros and fieldbus options support its use in packaging machines, pumps, and light material-handling installations. Its compact design allows it to control motor speed and torque without occupying excessive panel space.
The power stage is rated for a motor load of 0.75 kW and can deliver a continuous output of 2.4 A while drawing a nominal line current of 3.2 A. Output frequency is adjustable from 0 to a maximum of 320 Hz with a resolution of 0.01 Hz, supporting both V/Hz and sensorless vector control algorithms. The three-phase input is protected by a 6 A fuse that interrupts excessive current before it damages internal components. The drive’s IGBT bridge is suitable for operation on common industrial power systems. Heat is dissipated internally without forced airflow, allowing the drive to provide its rated current under supported operating conditions.
Control integration is supported by 6 digital inputs, 2 analog inputs, one analog output, and two relay contacts. During short acceleration intervals, the inverter permits an overload current of 3.6 A before internal protection limits torque. The aluminum enclosure measures 160 mm high, 66 mm wide, and 98 mm deep and weighs 0.55 kg, simplifying DIN-rail placement beside starters and breakers. The relay outputs can indicate ready status, faults, or external interlock conditions. The analog output can retransmit process variables to a controller, allowing the drive to provide operating data without a separate signal converter.
